Cutting Into The Future · Intelligent Manufacturing

As a licensed manufacturer in the field of tobacco cutting machines in China, K2M has defined the technical standards for domestic tobacco cutters with 52 core patents. We have not only witnessed the process of mechanization but are now leading the global tobacco processing industry into the Industry 4.0 era with intelligent drive and data sensing technologies.

Heritage & Leapfrog Development

1999

Rebirth

Kunming Tobacco Machinery Group No.2 Machine Co., Ltd. was formally reorganized. Amidst the wave of reform, we established the corporate credo of "Specialized, Refined, Unique," focusing on the R&D of tobacco cutters and threshing & redrying equipment.

Breaking Monopoly

Successfully developed the independent drive technology for upper and lower chains (Patent ZL200520022540.6), completely breaking free from reliance on imported mechanical linkage structures. The SQ34A series was launched, with a single machine capacity exceeding 10,000kg/h, marking the entry of domestic tobacco cutters into the ultra-high capacity era.

Today

Digital Navigation

Represented by the SQ35 and SQ39, the third generation of intelligent tobacco cutters integrates Siemens full digital bus control and micron-level stepping feed technology. We provide not just machines, but data interfaces, incorporating the latest AI technology to help customers build "Smart Factories."

The Ultimate Evolution of Cutting Precision

From the rigid transmission of mechanical gears to the flexible synchronization of electronic gears. Every technological iteration is an ultimate respect for the physical properties of cut tobacco.

  • 1.0 Mechanical Linkage Era

Relied on gearboxes and chains. Large accumulated errors, difficult adjustments, high noise.

  • 2.0 Independent Servo Era (Current)

SQ34A/SQ35 series. Decoupled upper and lower chains, S120 servo electronic synchronization. Feed precision reaches 0.002mm.

  • 3.0 Intelligent Sensing Era (Next)

Based on visual recognition and big data. Adaptive to moisture content and thickness variations, dynamically adjusting cutting parameters.

Industry Trend Insights

As the global tobacco industry transitions towards "Slim Cigarettes," "Low Tar," and "Heat-Not-Burn (HNB)" products, unprecedented challenges are posed to the precision and flexibility of tobacco processing equipment. Flexible handling and ultra-low degradation rates have become core competencies. As an industry leader, we are redefining cutting standards.

Future 5-10 Year Strategic Blueprint

Cognitive Lights-out Factory

A "Lights-out Factory" needs more than just automation; it needs Autonomous Decision Making. We are developing control systems based on edge computing that can analyze cutting resistance in real-time, reverse-infer quality fluctuations in the upstream moisturizing process, and implement adaptive compensation for blade wear without human intervention.

New Tobacco Specialization (HNB)

Reconstituted Tobacco (Recon) for Heat-Not-Burn products possesses high tensile strength and ultra-thin characteristics. We have developed specialized micron-level cutting technology to ensure that the cut cross-section provides the optimal surface area for aerosol release under low-temperature heating.

Global Digital Twin

Following the "Belt and Road" initiative, we will establish a Global Remote Operations Center. Utilizing Digital Twin technology, engineers in Kunming can debug and diagnose equipment overseas in a virtual environment, achieving "Zero Distance" technical support.
